Movies are all garbled after upgrading to QuickTime 6.4
Running Keynote 1.1 under 10.2.8 with quickTime 6.4 can result in various QT playback problems, including video glitches. Fixed in Keynote 1.1.1 and Panther
Can't use / in your image names
DO NOT use a / character in your image file names. Any image placed or dragged into Keynote will not show up again when you reopen the .key file. While the image gets correctly coppied into the package, the XML file gets written with the wrong file name (usually a colon symbol) and when you reopen the file you get a large question mark where the image was supposed to be. Fixed in Keynote 1.0.1
Problem with some Excel Charts
Excel charts that have features that keynote does not support (such as XY scatter) will cause the Keynote file to be unsaveable. If you have a PowerPoint presentation that you imported into Keynote and cannot save, check to see if you used any charts that were brought in from Excel. This could be your problem.
Text Insertion Point dissappears
The Text insertion cursor will periodically dissappear when trying to edit text. It still works, but leaves you dragging blindly across a line of text. FIXED in Keynote 1.0.1
Can't use .KEY in file name
| Trying to save a document with .KEY at the end instead of .key will not allow you to save. Instead, an error message comes up telling you Keynote can't save the document.
|
Can't save a .kth file as a .key file
If you open a .kth file (instead of using the Themes window to choose it), do some work on REGULAR slides (not Masters) and then try to save it, Keynote will NOT allow you to save it as a .Key file. Even if you change the name, it will not work and your slides will be deleted. You must Copy and Paste your slides to a real .key file to save them. FIXED in Keynote 1.1
Can't save a media file in a Master slide in a .Kth file
if you place a .mov file, animated Gif file or Flash file on a master Slide and then save the file, choosing to save the movie files INSIDE the .key file, it will work, but if you then open that .key file and resave it as a .kth file, the media files will turn into reference movies and will NOT be inside the .kth file.
Table borders don't stick if you choose to make that table a default
If you change SOME the borders of a table to a different color, or to NONE, and then choose to make that table the default for that Master Slide, or for All Master Slides, the table will not hold the style properly. it will either turn off ALL the borders, or change the color to the most used color, and drop the other colors.
Turning off a used font with Suitcase 10 will hang Keynote
If you use a font in Keynote and then turn it OFF with Suitcase 10, it will usually give you an error in Keynote and probably crash or hang Keynote.
