Page Three: Other Collections
Other Collections

While the guts of the collection is the JuiceDrops and Remixes, there are a good number of other image collections on this DVD.

ThemeDrops
The ThemeDrops are particularly handy for churches or groups needing themed images for announcement or sermon backgrounds. There are 100 different themed images, and since the print resolution is included, you could use them for both a flyer and an announcement background. Also included are remixes of those images, although again, they are only in the 800x600 resolution. You can see a few samples here.

Bonus Backdrops
The Bonus Backdrops are a strange bunch. Halfway between JuiceDrops and ThemeDrops, these images are sometimes too busy to be JuiceDrops, and not themed enough to be ThemeDrops, although many do have a theme. These are just sort of well, a bonus set. There are 200 images in the same configuration that the ThemeDrops were in. You can see a few samples here.

Power Abstracts
These are well...abstract. Swirls, bright shapes, neon lights and weird patterns abound. Most of these would need a little work to be usable as a background, but with a little Photoshop tweaking most are very usable. There are 100 of these in the same configuration as the ThemeDrops. You can see a few samples here.

Other Textures
There are three more texture collections, Exotic Paper, Cool Textures, and Marble and Granite. The paper and granite images are exactly what they sound like, while the Cool Textures set contains things like fabric, wood, paint, and other interesting textures. Cool Textures contains 200 images, while the other two contain 100, all in the same configuration as the ThemeDrops. You can see a few samples here: Paper | Textures | Granite

Need Some "Real" Photos?
Okay, so you've got lots of backgrounds and textures, what about real photos? No problem, DJ has included several sets of photos. Photo Objects is just what it sounds like, isolated objects that can be used on a slide background or web site, without having to remove the background first. There are about 187 objects of all types. Cool Photos are basically full sized photos of all sorts. There are 300 photos in both screen and print sizes plus the 800x600 remixes. Bonus Photos adds 200 more 800x600 photos with remixes, and Washington D.C. includes 96 photos of a Washington theme, in screen and print quality plus remixes.

A little motion
This last part of the collection is a little confusing. While I know DJ meant well, the collection just seems tacked on. Usually when I use a video, it's either as a full screen background loop or it's a video I created to go with my presentation. I tend to not use video clips the same way I use clip art, or if I do, I edit my own stuff in with it in Final Cut Pro. These are pretty much clip art that moves, and they are all only available as 320X240 clips.

VideoClips
These are basically moving clip art. There is a lot of variety here, but I rate it pretty low on the usability level, at least for using in a raw format in a presentation. Now, once Apple gets Keynote to play full screen video WHILE you are building bullets, you might be able to stretch these and use them to make a point, but for now you'll get a short delay in the video each time you do a build in. You can see a few samples here.

Animated Elements
These are basicaly Digital Juice animations sized down to 320x240. They DO loop, so you could stretch them to be full screen backgrounds. Again, there's a limited use for these in my opinion due to their size, but they are a nice little bonus thrown into the pot. You can see a few samples here.
