Just before the presentation starts, point your browser to the link below for the Live News Blog updated by the minute by Ken Drake. Or, if you've got a copy of iChat handy, simply choose Go To Chat from the iChat file menu and type in Keynoteuser, or click the link below. You'll be included in a public chat room hosted by Brian Peat. We'll be posting the trascript from the chat when it's all over. This year's show appears to be shaping up to be a great one, so don't miss it just because you can't attend!

KeynotePro.com releases Barcelona theme
Posted 12/16/04 | 6:00 PM
KeynotePro has announced the release of Barcelona - an exploration of classical design, bringing aged paper and coarse, loosely trapped blockprint color together with crisp type and the timeless icon of world travel - the postcard - into a style that is both raw canvas and a well-worn tome. Custom ink-spot bullets, warmly textured chart fills and traveled, crumple-edged postcards overlay the canvas in a timeless blend of style and metaphor spanning 31 Slide Masters in both 800x600 and 1024x768 sizes. Barcelona is available for immediate download for $19.95, or in a Bundle with 2 other themes for $48.95 at www.KeynotePro.com. The Season of Savings promotion, launched earlier this month, continues this week with the Platform theme - available at the special price of $14.95 (a $5 savings) through Friday. Each Friday from now until December 31st, a different theme will be offered at a special sale price.

You also can't use the free tool to convert PDFs or PowerPoint files. If you're looking for an all-in-one conversion tool that includes batch functions, you'll want to check out iPresent It. KeynotePro releases new OM and iDVD Themes
Posted 11/21/04 | 5:00 PM
KeynotePro is pleased to announce the release of 2 new themes - OM for Keynote, and Proof (+) and (-) for iDVD. The OM theme style is light & soothing - creating a defined structre around the interplay of color and accent. Every slide master in OM is a photo master, and yet photos are by no means a necessary element. And due to overwhelming user requests, Proof (+) and (-) for iDVD has been released - including 4 distinct themes in both (+) and (-) palettes - for a total of 8 complete theme files. The Drop-Zone versions offer Horizontal and Vertical orientations in the 35mm Negative style, so you can switch between the two styles as needed depending on the orientation of your source photography. The Polaroid-style Drop-Zone themes automatically dull the color of dropped imagery or movies - making it easy to turn slick-looking photography or clips into a "test-shot" with very little effort. OM for Keynote and Proof (+) and (-) for iDVD are available for immediate download for $19.95 each at www.KeynotePro.com.

Apple Updates iBooks and PowerBooks
Posted 4/19/04 | 10:45 AM
Apple today released brand new speed bumped iBooks and PowerBooks. Any of these machines should work great with Keynote, though the Powerbooks support the ability to view your notes on the internal screen while showing your slides on the projector. Also, the iBooks still only have 32 meg of video ram, while the PowerBooks come with 64, with the top end 15" and 17" allowing you to order 128 meg of video ram! Also, the PowerBooks come with an Airport Extreme card preinstalled, and in most models you get a SuperDrive, which you have to build-to-order on the iBooks. Our recommendation is the Top end 15" with the added vRam, topping out at $2549 before you add other goodies like AppleCare and memory.
