My questions, which I hope to resolve by calling my buddy at the Apple Store and letting me play with one:

- Does it play embedded videos? I would think so, but didn't see that in the demos.
- JK above asks a great question: will it play iWork files from the Mac? My instinct says, yes. I'll tell you right now, though, 55MB is PUNY - I make Keynote files up to 1GB or so with lots of embedded video (see first question).
- Show output. Not sure if there's a presenter display, beyond mirroring. We'll see. What's probably the optimal scenario for me is to have it be controller of a Mac connected to the projector; that way I can walk around and control it with the pad. But, I can do that right now on an iPhone, so not much advantage there, except it's bigger.

What are the limitations? There's bound to be some. Excited nonetheless.

Incredibly stoked about an iPad Keynote version. If it really works (see caveats/questions below), it's huge: a compact, inexpensive ($500 to start) way to equip people to make presentations. That means my answer doesn't have to be, "you'll need to buy or rent a Mac" to show Keynote. Huge!

Hello,

I wonder if iPad will be able to play keynote files from mac os x. My keynotes are 55mb each, so there is also a problem of minimizing the size. I dont know how...maybe i will convert each slide to jpg and insert them in a new slide each. Transitions through iPad keynote versions.
Any ideas guys?

Did anyone else notice the new Keynote Build In transition that Steve was using. The element dropped from the top of the screen and landed like ton of bricks with a thud and accompanying dust cloud.

You can see it if you look at the iPad video and forward to about 3:07. Steve's announcing that a user downloaded the 3 Billionth app from the app store and you'll see the new transition.

I wonder if that indicates a new version of Keynote is waiting in the wings.

Anyone know how to add such a transition? Are there extra transitions that one can buy and add just like we can with themes?

I wonder if there will be support for an extended desktop. I use presenter notes extensively with Keynote, and I wonder about the potential for having separate presenter and presentation screens like we have now.
I don't think anyone knows this yet, but I'm just bringing it up.

Absolutely on the one-to-one pitch setups - even though it's going to make 4:3 hold on a bit longer, lol.

Curious not just about theme installation, but whether or not we'll be able to have more than a single presentation open at a time (for supplemental assets, etc.) - didn't see any notion of app multi-tasking in what I've read thusfar, but nothing to say they haven't implemented that on app level.

A lot of unanswered questions, lol :)
