Apple updates QuickTime to 7.1.1

Available from both Software Update and Apple’s QuickTime download page, version 7.1.1 of QuickTime “addresses an issue with 3rd party start-up items on Intel Macs.” Of interest to OUR visitors is the vastly more important “This release also fixes an issue exporting Keynote presentations to iDVD”.
As would be expected from such a Mac targeted release, there is no attendant Windows version available (current version remains 7.1).

So – does it fix the Quicktime video export out-of-sync-ness?
Do you mean how Keynote’s export seems to be timed differently from the presentation, then no. That’s going to require more code changes to Keynote. If I need to have a QuickTime movie of a presentation, I still create two separate presentations so that I don’t have to alter slide timings, etc. This is especially true for presentations with movies embedded.
I’m stuck (probably like everyone else) trying to figure out Keynote’s Quicktime Export / Out of Sync problem.
I have a 7.30 minute video in keynote that is completely synced with the audio file. However, when I export to QT, the video becomes 8.45 seconds long and goes out of sync with my video clip. After trying various exports and reading these boards, I could not export to anything that would get the video down to 7.30 seconds. So I thought maybe I can just export video seperate and sync up the audio myself in QT Pro or FCP…
So QT Pro doesn’t work because the clips are randomly longer than others and the editing software just isn’t good enough to handle it…
FCP couldn’t work because…I would export the file out of Keynote as (H264, Animec, Sorenson, etc) and when I imported into FCP the quality would lag significantly. Now, I’m trying to export out of Keynote as (none, uncompressed) but all three times now, it just “hangs” on the end (AFTER the last slide) and won’t finish the compression…
ARGG…my final solution is to just export the video out of Keynote and then re-record my audio narration to fit the video. That would suck because I don’t have access to the studio anymore and the audio would sound bad.
Any help?? I just need to get a high quality Keynote export into FCP so that I can sync them up together.
Also, through all these exports of Keynote, I’m seeing my harddrive space go down. Does anyone know if Keynote keeps render files on the HD? And if so, where are they? I’ve canceled a couple of renders now just to see that the HD space is still diminishing even though I don’t get a finished file.
Thanks in advance!!!!
What version of Keynote are you using?
