Rendering problem on Arabic/Hebrew text builds
Posted by | Posted in Bugs | Posted on 06-06-2005
This one comes from Apple’s discussion boards. A user found that after typing an Arabic word in Keynote, applying a build to that word makes only the FIRST character build onto the screen. Another user found the same problem with Hebrew text as well. Grouping the text block with another transparent object such as an empty text block or a shape with it’s fill and stroke set to “None” allows the entire object to build.

Anyone knows if this bug was fixed on Keynote 3.0?
no idea. You might want to ask on the Apple Keynote forum as there’s more chance of someone being able to test this (I don’t use Hebrew fonts).
At first I thought it was fixed, but appears to still be broken. The workaround is still the same though, group another object with the text.
Unfortunately this is still an issue with Keynote 3.0.2
Yes. It’s been reported as a bug. Hopefully it gets ironed out before the next version upgrade.
Well i just purchased iWork 08 and the keynotes still have this issue with the arabic font as i just suffered with it today. I have a dead line for my presentation by next 5 days and i m really angry with this, how come apple make a great software like Keynote and can not fix this bug since years now.
Yes, it’s still in there and has been reported again. In order to add your voice, be sure to post your issue at Apple’s feedback page for Keynote

Saeed,
What version of the OS are you running? It likely still exists for 10.4, but should be resolved if you’re running Leopard (10.5)
I’m running Leopard on my MacBook Pro and I am having lots of trouble using Unicode Hebrew fonts with pointing in Keynote ’08. The vowels are just not lining up correctly. I’m trying to produce slides for a Hebrew language class. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I purchased keynotewith the understanding that it would support arabic fonds. Unfortunately it did not . I was then advised to get hold of office 2007 and continue my prsentations on it. Sadly again microsoft 2007 does not support arabic fonts. Can someone please advice me where do I go from here? I changed from PC to mac leoperd and I am regretting the whole ordeal. It has cost me dearly in time money and frustration
guess what!
Keynote ’09 (v 5.0) and this bug still there!!
