KeynoteThemePark.com Releases “TecTile”

Posted by | Posted in Keynote Themes | Posted on 01-13-2005

In this theme, the background is made up of individual tiles, each which can be deleted or have it’s opacity adjusted. Each tile is sized and positioned to match the flipping tiles of the “Mosaic Small” transition. There are a total of 30 default photo cutouts with many bleeding off the slide, ready to connect to the next for stunning transitions. Two contemporary fonts are included with this theme including a family of regular, bold, and italics for the body text. Twelve plates of chrome Focus Elements round out this theme and add a great graphic flair.

  1. I purchased Tectile and have nothing but positive feedback for potential buyers. The “Tectile Extra” file suggests that you play it as a slideshow to better grasp some of the possible applications. “Chrome looking Frames” are stretchable, and have a slightly smokey transparent window – you do lose some brightness of an underlying image, but can compensate for that in the original image by increasing tis brightness, and in Keynote 2 should be able to do that within the Ap. Making “custom” tile transparency windows is easy, but it takes some time to learn how you approach this differently from using fixed cutouts. A large number of additional items makes customization easy and fun, but fair warning to all, it quickly becomes addictive and you can spend hours playing with all the neat stuff that is included, without writing any new content… It is excellent value for the money. I know that Brian is working on his stretcheables, and look forward to try those as well. These remain in the same proportion as you expand or conract them, so depending on the original image, you may have to go back and tweak it to make it “fit”, as frame and image sit on top of the background – in other words, they do not function as cutouts. A good buy, good looks, and nice neutral colors that blend well with amost all image hues. Interestingly enough, although the extras contain a number of colored fills, not a single yellow is included anywhere – not sure I understand why. Not a big deal, you just do that with a custom fill. Two stretcheable bullets are versatile, but at really high magnification I got a small amount of pixelation with one of them – don’t remember which. It projects well, and first reactions from students have been very positive: “Looks cool..!!”

  2. Have been absent here for quite a while. So finally somebody has done a mosaic-based theme; I thought it was going to be Brian as we had long discussions about this many moons ago. I too have bought Tectile and am also very impressed!

  3. Yeah, I started one a long while back, but only ever got one slide done, and it didn’t look this cool :)
